Energy I'm Taking Into 2019 refers to a copypasta that grew popular on Twitter in late 2018 in which people would post humorous photos, calling it the "energy" they would be carrying into the new year.
Origin
On December 26th, 2018, Twitter user @matwhi[1] posted a tweet of a headline in which actress Catherine Zeta-Jones said she was through apologizing for being rich and beautiful, saying it was the energy he was carrying into 2019.
Spread
Over the following several days, others recreated the tweet with numerous humorous images. Twitter user @arenaofshrugs posted an image of a cat chewing on a wire which gained over 1,200 points and 5,300 likes (shown below, left). User @mort3mer made an object labeling joke with a still from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia that gained over 2,600 retweets and 7,300 likes (shown below, right). On December 31st, 2018, the meme was covered by Latestly.[2]
