Emotional Support Kangaroo Rejected Entry To Plane, also known as Kangaroo Holding Boarding Pass, is a viral AI-generated video of a small emotional support kangaroo holding a boarding pass being rejected entry onto a flight as its owner argues with the ticket agent. The AI video was created by Instagram user InfiniteUnreality. It went viral on X / Twitter in late May 2025, with some seeming to believe that it was real, inspiring memes, discourse and reactions.
Origin
On May 25th, 2025, Instagram[1] user InfiniteUnreality, the page of a visual effects artist who is known to post elaborate AI-generated videos, posted a video of an emotional support kangaroo being rejected from entering a plane. In the video, the kangaroo holds onto its boarding pass as its owner argues with the ticket agent next to an airport gate. The video gained over 970,000 likes in three days.

On May 26th, 2025, X[2] user @itsme_urstruly reposted the video, writing, "Airline staff is not allowing this cute kangaroo to board the airplane, the way he is holding the boarding pass and waiting to be scanned 🥺 (ai)," garnering over 177,000 likes and 23,000 reposts in two days.
On May 27th, X[3] user @DramaAlert reposted the video without disclosing it as AI-generated, writing, "Emotional support kangaroo rejected entry to plane," garnering over 223,000 likes, 26,000 reposts and 41 million views in a day.
The video inspired many reactions and memes after the @DramaAlert post, including memes that use a still screenshot of the kangaroo holding the boarding pass.
For example, on May 27th, 2025, around three hours after the post was made, X[4] user @JohnnyKilos posted the image as a comment, writing, “Oi mate, you’re probably wondering how I got here," garnering over 4,700 likes in a day.
Later that day, X[5] user @amakadsi quoted the post, writing, "Is he holding the boarding pass??? 😂😂😂," garnering over 680,000 likes and 61,000 reposts in a day. Shortly after, X[6] user @EpicOpsTargeted posted the image of the kangaroo, writing, "can you believe this bitch," garnering over 16,000 likes in a day.
On May 28th, 2025, X[7] user @SuspectFed quoted the post, writing, "Remember how just a year ago this entire site was laughing at boomers on fb falling for the most absurd AI slop?" garnering over 14,000 likes in under a day.
That same day, LADBible[8] then published an article debunking the video and noting it was AI.
