On April 13th, 2024, The Hollywood Reporter shared a video^[1] (shown below) of Elon Musk giving multiple poses on the red carpet at the 10th Annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony. The video amassed over 64 million views and 7,700 likes in three days.

Spread

Shortly after The Hollywood Reporter's video was posted on X, several users started to reply to the post with jokes and memes about Musk's perceived cringeworthy poses. For instance, on April 14th, 2024, X^[2] user @adamtotscomix replied to the viral video with the caption "You know he was practicing these poses in the mirror for an hour before he left," which amassed over 11,000 likes and 430 retweets in two days.
