Egg Bigger Than Before refers to a memorable quote from a 5-Minute Hacks science video in which an egg is soaked in vinegar and maple syrup, increasing its size. Following a viral post on Twitter, people began using the phrase in a variety of jokes and memes about the video.

Origin

On May 5th, 2019, 5-Minute Hacks published the video "22 CRAZY HOME SCIENCE TRICKS YOU'VE NEVER SEEN." In the video, one of the "science tricks" includes making an egg bigger by soaking it in vinegar and maple syrup. The segment ends with the egg being declared "bigger than before." The post received more than 3.2 million views in less than three months (shown below).

On July 25th, 2019, Twitter[1] user @chipspopandabar tweeted the clip from the video with the caption "please watch this extremely bizarre facebook craft video." The tweet received more than 2.2 million views, 41,000 likes and 11,000 retweets in 24 hours (shown below).

Following the post, people made jokes on Twitter[2] about the phrase "bigger than before." Twitter user @hollyjunesmith tweeted a parody of the poem This Is Just To Say by William Carlos Williams. The post received more than 5,000 likes and 500 retweets in 24 hours (shown below, left).

Throughout the day, others shared variations of the meme (examples below, center and right).
