Dunkaccino is a cappuccino coffee drink available at the Dunkin' fast-food restaurant. The product became a viral meme in 2011 after actor performed a rap about the item in the 2011 Adam Sandler comedy Jack and Jill.

Origin

On November 11th, 2011, Sony Pictures released the Adam Sandler comedy Jack and Jill in the United States.^[1] The film features a scene in which actor Al Pacino performs in a commercial for the Dunkacinno drink and raps a song about how he changed his name to "Dunk."

On February 20th, 2012, YouTuber metnix1 posted the clip. The post received more than 483,000 views in less than nine years (shown below).

Spread

In the years since the clip's release, it became the subject of a remix series. For example, on April 3rd, 2017, YouTuber ATAG Chozo shared a clip entitled "Dunkaccino but in Reverse" (shown below, left).

On February 10th, 2019, YouTuber MooMooMe42 posted a remix of Pacino winning an Academy Award. The post received more than 11,000 views in less than two years (shown below, right).

That year, Redditor Sp_Gamer_Live posted a remix of the clip in the /r/moviescirclejerk^[2] entitled "The Uncut Gems trailer but its the Dunkaccino scene from Jack and Jill in 144p in Black & White with Immigrant Song playing at 4/5th the speed." The post received more than 500 points (100% upvoted) in less than one year (shown below).

On May 28th, 2020, Twitter user @DailyDunkacinno began posting daily remixes of the clip. The first one received more than 145,000 views, 7,000 likes and 2,000 retweets in less than 24 hours two months (shown below).
