Dumbest High School Pic is a social media challenge in which participants share what they believe to be their own "dumbest" photograph of themselves taken while they were in high school. The challenge began on Twitter in December 2019.

Origin

On December 16th, 2019, Twitter^[1] user @im_your_density tweeted, "what’s the dumbest pic you have of yourself from high school. mine’s this of me posing seductively in my firehouse subs uniform after an extremely unfortunate haircut." The tweet received more than 6,000 likes and 135 retweets in less than two days (shown below).

Spread

Following the post, people responded to the thread with their own submission. Twitter^[2] user @error303 posted an image of themself in a bathtub and the caption "Here's my senior picture." The tweet received more than 285 likes in less than two days (shown below, left).

On December 17th, Twitter^[3] user @dredoubleu tweeted a face-swapped image of themselves and their dog. The post received more than 680 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below, center).

That day, The Daily Dot ^[4] published a report on the thread.

Over the next few days, others shared examples, as well (example below, right).
