APRENDE INGLÉS CON CANCIONES, also known as Duet With Aprendoinglescantando is a TikTok trend where people duet an account that lays out the phonetic pronunciations of various popular English songs. The account @aprendoinglescantando has been posting English tutorials in the form of music lyrics, showing the original lyric, Spanish translation, and English phonetic transcription, since August 29th, 2022. In January 2023, singer Billie Eilish duetted the account to sing her song "TV."

Origin

On August 29th, 2022, TikTok^[1] account @aprendoinglescantando posted a video where they wrote down the lyrics to the Marron 5 song "She Will Be Loved" alongside its Spanish translation and a phonetic transcription of how the words should be pronounced in English. The post gathered over 170,000 plays and 5,000 likes in nearly five months (seen below, left). On November 5th, 2022, the account posted its first video^[2] to earn over 1 million plays, gathering 90,000 likes in five months (seen below, right).

On October 29th, TikToker^[3] @lip33333 posted a video duetting the aforementioned account and singing "Careless Whisper" by George Michael, gathering over 60,000 plays and 4,000 likes in nearly three months. On November 1st, 2022, TikToker^[4] @girl_on_couch also posted a video dueting the aforementioned account and botching a rendition of "Careless Whisper." The post gathered over 5 million plays and 500,000 likes in nearly three months (seen below).

On November 2nd, 2022, TikToker^[5] @kubova_english_ofiko posted a duet video singing "Careless Whisper" as well, gathering over 50,000 plays and 2,900 likes in nearly three months (seen below, left). On December 1st, 2022, TikToker^[6] @ivy.eve.scarlet posted a video duetting @aprendoinglescantando as well, gathering over 700,000 plays and 100,000 likes in nearly two months (seen below, right).

On December 14th, TikToker^[7] @girl_on_couch posted another @aprendoinglescantando duet, gathering over 800,000 plays and 46,000 likes (seen below, left). On January 18th, 2023, Billie Eilish took to her TikTok account @casadicasadilego^[8] to post a duet rendition of her song "TV," gathering over 7 million plays and 1.3 million likes (seen below, right).
