Drunk Guy Pissing at Bar, also known as Drunk Man Peeing On Bar, refers to a viral picture of a man peeing at a bar in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania while the bartender is talking to him. The image was captured in August 2021 and was used as an exploitable image macro in memes across Twitter, Instagram and Reddit, typically to describe something as trashy.

Origin

The earliest instance of the image appearing online was on August 28th, 2021, when Twitter^[1] user @_gabrielle_210 shared the photo via a tweet (shown below) with the caption, "I have 0 remaining faith in humanity." According to @_gabrielle_210, she took the image at a bar in Philadelphia. The tweet received roughly 760 likes and 80 retweets over the course of four days.

Spread

On August 29th, 2021, Twitter^[2] user @LIKELAMAR shared the photo via a tweet (shown below) with the caption, "I love fort lauderdale bars." This tweet associated the photo with the location of Florida even though it wasn't taken there. This caused it to become associated with the Florida man trend due to Florida's trashy reputation on the internet in general. The tweet received roughly 16,200 likes and 2,500 retweets over the course of three days.

The following day, on August 30th, 2021, the photo was shared to Reddit's /r/trashy^[3] by u/LordFarquads_3rd_nip (shown below) with the caption, "Drunk guy taking a piss while ordering a drink at Ft Lauderdale bar."^[4] The post received roughly 9,700 upvotes over the course of two days.

The image was used by other Twitter users in the days following, paired with various captions in other posts. The image also spread to Instagram where users used it in their own meme content.
