Dremskiy or Sorry Dreamski, also known as Im Frend, refers to a series of memes based on a screenshot of a Helldivers 2 chatlog in which a player named Tolga tells a player named dremskiy, also known as Dreamski, that he's being kicked from the party because they're only playing with friends, Dreamski replying, "I'm frend," and Tolga writing, "don't make this more difficult." The image was posted to the /r/Helldivers subreddit in May 2024 and quickly inspired memes, which continued over the following month, including memes that attach sad reaction videos and images to the screenshot. Dremskiy later responded to the memes in an interview with GamesRadar, claiming they made him smile.

Origin

On May 13th, 2024, Redditor u/RoboBadger07 posted a screenshot of a Helldivers 2 chatlog to the /r/Helldivers^[1] subreddit titled, "The interaction that can make a grown man cry," garnering over 24,000 upvotes in a year. The screenshot shows a chatlog between player Tolga and dremskiy. Tolga writes, "Sorry Dreamski we playing friends only I hv to kick you." Dremskiy replies, "Im frend." Tolga responds, "dontmake this more difficult."

Spread

The meme garnered viral spread over the following months as users attached sad reactions to it. On May 13th, 2024, the meme was reposted to X^[2] by @Helldiversmedia, garnering over 103,000 likes in a year.

On May 14th, Redditor u/zinnwick posted a meme to the /r/Helldivers2^[3] subreddit portraying the interaction through a Breaking Bad scene, garnering over 2,100 upvotes in a year.

On May 15th, the @Helldiversmedia X^[4] page quoted their own post sharing the meme with a notification after trying to add Dremskiy as a friend, claiming he already has too many friends, writing, "Update: Dremskiy has Friends," garnering over 12,000 likes in a year.

That day, GamesRadar^[10] published an interview with Dremskiy, who claimed that the memes made him "smile."

On May 16th, Redditor u/xixouma made a post to /r/helldivers2^[5] titled, "Petition to make 'frend of' an option for ship naming," garnering over 1,100 upvotes in a year.

On May 18th, 2024, TikToker^[6] @ultramatticus posted a video attaching an animation by Flashgitz^[7] as a reaction to the original meme, receiving over 352,000 likes and 980 comments in a year.

On May 22nd, YouTuber^[8] Zdak posted a version of the meme, attaching the Wesley Snipes Crying clip from New Jack City as a reaction to the content, garnering over 24 million views in a year.

On April 16th, 2025, Redditor u/Wbancil1998 made a post to the /r/helldivers2^[9] subreddit, titled "Long Live Dremskiy," sharing an edit of the Helldivers 2 difficulty options with "frend" edited into the selection, garnering over 4,200 upvotes in a month.
