Draw 25 refers to a two-paneled image macro with one image of a customizable Uno wild card next to an image of a man with a large hand of cards. The wild card typically gives the option of performing an action or "draw 25" and the second image infers that a person decided against performing the action. The image macro rose to popularity on Twitter, Reddit and Instagram in January 2020.

Origin

On January 4th, Facebook^[7] User Damien Jones posted the two images with a wild card that reads "call/text your recent ex or draw 25" and captioned the post Say No More (shown below). The post received over 195,000 shares, 44,000 comments and 20,000 reacts in a week.

Spread

On January 5th, 2020, Twitter user @Fujyno^[1] reposted the two images with the wild card reading, "call/text your recent ex or Draw 25." The Tweet gained over 353,500 likes and 113,300 retweets in four days. On January 5th, Redditor Scaulbylausis repost Twitter user @Fujyno's image to r/blursed^[2] which received over 13,100 points (98% upvoted) in four days. On January 8th, Instagram^[3] user meme_appetit posted the image with the instruction "Watch Tasty Video or Draw 25" in the wild card and gained over 19,100 likes in a day (shown below, left). That same day, Redditor JonathanMU posted a rickroll iteration of the format to r/memes^[4] and accumulated over 15,600 points (97% upvoted) in a day (shown below, right).

On January 8th, Redditors continued to use the format across the site and especially on r/dankmemes. For example, Redditor DDO1904 received over 29,400 points (97% upvoted) in a day for their iteration posted to r/dankmemes^[5] (shown below, left). That same day, Redditor Spoxx1 posted the meme to r/dankmemes^[6] but replaced the second panel image with an image of someone writing out "four" (shown below, right). The post garnered over 44,500 points (94% upvoted) in a day.
