On November 29th, 2017, Drake was attending a home game for the NBA's Toronto Raptors. The in-stadium camera filmed him and showed him on the stadium's jumbotron, to which Drake acted awkwardly. The Raptors Instagram account posted the video that night, gaining over 1.6 million views (shown below).

Shortly after the video was posted online, Twitter users began joking about the clip with various captions in which one might act awkwardly. User @BrooksyRadio^[1] said of the clip, "When someone gives you a Christmas gift and you didn't get them anything," gaining over 690 retweets and 2,500 likes (shown below, left). Twitter user @EathanKnows^[2] posted the clip with a situation where a teacher asks for homework one didn't do, gaining 5,200 retweets and 10,000 likes. The jokes were covered by several media outlets including Time,^[3] The Verge,^[4] and Daily Dot.^[5] On Reddit, a post about the GIF gained 15 points on /r/MemeEconomy.^[6]
