Drake, Drake, Go Away is a brainrot song and AI music video parodying the nursery rhyme "Rain, Rain, Go Away," with lyrics that reference rapper Drake and the predator allegations surrounding him. The song was released by the Rizz Records YouTube channel and TikTok page in early July 2024 and went viral over the following weeks, inspiring memes on TikTok. Later, Rizz Records released a second version of the song that uses artificial intelligence to make Kendrick Lamar sing the lyrics.

Origin

On July 8th, 2024, Rizz Records posted an AI-generated music video set to a brainrot song parody of "Rain, Rain, Go Away," titled "Drake, Drake, Go Away," to YouTube[1] and TikTok,[2] garnering over 427,000 views on the former and 17.8 million views on the latter in a week (shown below). The song takes the lyrics of "Rain, Rain, Go Away" and replaces certain words with Gen Z and Gen Alpha slang terms, while also referencing Drake's allegations of grooming.

The song's virality, particularly on TikTok, inspired memes over the following days, with the original sound for the video being used over 48,000 times in a week. For example, on July 9th, 2024, TikTokers[3][4] @rizzyrot and @sl33p1n posted videos set to the song, the latter showing a baby watching the video, that garnered over 1.9 million views and 4.5 million views respectively in six days (shown below, left and right).

On the same day, X[5][6] user @coldfrontII reposted the video, writing, "IM GONNA KMS WHAT IS THIS," although their account has since been suspended. On the same day, it was posted to /r/Hiphopcirclejerk.[7] garnering over 500 upvotes in six days. On July 10th, TikToker[8] @whitebebeofficial posted a video using the sound, garnering over 900,000 views in five days (shown below).

On July 14th, 2024, Rizz Records posted another version of the song to YouTube,[9] featuring a new music video and an AI singing the song in the voice of Kendrick Lamar, garnering over 93,000 views in a day (shown below). It was also posted to TikTok,[10] garnering over 400,000 views in the same span of time.
