About

The Dr DisRespect Chess vs. Checkers Post is an X / Twitter post made by streamer Dr DisRespect, aka Guy Beahm, consisting of a POV photo taken opposite of Beahm sitting at one end of a chessboard, tenting his fingers, with chess pieces on the board in front of him while the other side of the board has checkers laid out on it, suggesting Dr DisRespect is playing chess while his opponent is playing checkers. The post was made in late July 2024 following a brief hiatus due to allegations of Dr DisRespect grooming a minor and was seen by many as a teaser for his comeback. The post inspired reactions and memes across social media, with many referencing the grooming controversy.

Origin

On June 21st, 2024, allegations that Dr DisRespect was banned from Twitch for inappropriately talking with a minor over Twitch's now-defunct Whispers DM features came forward. This ultimately resulted in Dr DisRespect making a statement in which he announced a hiatus from streaming at the end of June.

On July 31st, Dr DisRespect then posted a photograph to X[1] that garnered over 38 million views, 96,000 likes and 12,000 reposts in a day (shown below). The photo depicts Dr DisRespect sitting at one end of a chessboard with his fingers tented. His side of the board has chess pieces on it, while the opponent's side has checker pieces.

The post quickly became the subject of discussions, memes and criticism online. Within half an hour of making the post, Dr DisRespect responded to two critical commenters, X[2][3] users @WashYourCrack and @dremo.

The former posted, "is this you playing with a minor?" to over 110,000 likes, with Dr DisRespect responding by pointing out their pronouns (shown below, left). The latter posted the "I Heard You Like Little Boys" meme to over 130,000 likes in a day, resulting in Dr DisRespect calling him a "brainwashed woke boy." Each of Dr DisRespect's responses was subsequently ratioed (shown below, left and right).

Notably, the "You Like Little Boys" meme does not feature any lyrics from Kendrick Lamar's diss tracks towards Drake, making Beahm's comment inaccurate.
