About
DougDoug Fast-Food Drive-Thru Challenge, also known as the I'll Have What He's Having Challenge, is an IRL internet challenge that involves driving to 10 different fast food places and ordering the food that the car in front of you has ordered, then completing their order while driving to the next location and attempting to consume all the food within a set amount of time. The challenge was started by Twitch streamer DougDoug and has since spread with YouTubers and streamers getting friends together to attempt it and trying to keep stats on how much food was consumed during it, recording both total calories and number of restaurants.
Origin
On May 20th, 2023, Twitch streamer DougDoug went live in a car with Parkzer, Barry and Perry, and explained that the plan was to go through 10 different drive-thru fast-food places and say that they wanted to order the same thing as the people in front of them, with the goal to complete the order before moving on to the next place. It was stated that the challenge needed to have four people in the car to make it easier for splitting food amongst the group.
The VOD of the stream was uploaded to DougDoug's VOD YouTube[1] channel on May 28th, 2023, where it received over 170,000 views in two months (shown below).
Rules
According to DougDoug, who posted the rules to his Twitter[4] on July 18th, 2023, the Fast-Food Drive-Thru Challenge's rules are as follows:
- 4 Fighters
- Max of 1 drink place (e.g. Starbucks)
- Max of 2 dessert places (e.g. Krispy Kreme)
- Must go to KFC
- Max of 6 hours (soft rule)
- Can only repeat a single restaurant (soft rule)
- For "hybrid" food & dessert places like Dunkin or Dairy Queen, you can make the call of how to categorize it based on what you ordered and how hardcore you wanna be (soft rule)
Spread
Two months later, YouTuber Ludwig attempted the challenge with his The Yard podcast members Slime, Aiden and Nick, in a stream that took almost six hours to complete. During the stream they tried to keep a running count of the calorie total consumed, ending at an estimated 17,385 calories consumed. The VOD of the stream was uploaded to Ludwig's main YouTube[2] channel on July 18th, 2023, where it gained over 500,000 views in three days (shown below).
On July 19th, 2023, Twitch streamer PayMoneyWubby also attempted the challenge with his mods DJ, Ash and manager Alluux. The six-hour stream had them going to 11 different restaurants and ending with a total of 18,100 calories, beating the caloric intake of The Yard but having some in chat call them out for not completing the final burger and fries to make 12 restaurants total. The VOD was uploaded to the unaffiliated PayMoneyWubby Stream Archive[3] channel on July 21st, 2023, receiving over 7,000 views in eight hours (shown below).
