Don't You Feel Silly? Don't You Feel Stupid? refers to a video of Sam Hyde asking his viewers if they feel silly, stupid or ashamed. The video inspired a popular original sound on TikTok in July 2021 as users began lip-dubbing and performing skits to it.
Origin
On June 17th, 2021, TikToker[1] @ggjoe3 posted a clip of Million Dollar Extreme co-founder and alt-right figure Sam Hyde saying without context, "Don't you feel silly? Don't you feel stupid? Don't you feel a little ashamed?" with additional music (shown below). The video was originally posted to Hyde's Twitter, which has been deleted. The TikTok upload gained over 1.4 million views in a month.
Spread
The original sound for the video went viral over the course of July as TikTokers began lip-dubbing to it and performing comedy skits over it (popular examples from June 30, July 18 respectively shown below).
By August 3rd, the sound had been used in over 37,700 videos on TikTok.[2] The most popular video using the sound as of that date was uploaded to TikTok[3] by @stinkysyd on July 18th and jokes about when the sleepover gets "political," gaining over 4.2 million views in two weeks (shown below).
On July 20th, YouTuber[4] dreamy tiktok posted a compilation of the trend, gaining over 149,000 views in a week (shown below).
