Don't Call Me, Don't Come By My House refers to a scene from the 2010 Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie where Rowley and Greg have an argument, resulting in Rowley telling Greg, "Don't call me, don't come by my house, we're done." The scene became the increasing subject of memes throughout the 2020s, becoming popularized on TikTok throughout 2023 as a lip dub sound and general meme.

Origin

On March 19th, 2010, the 2010 Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie was released. At one point in the movie, Greg Heffley and Rowley Jefferson, best friends, have a falling out, resulting in Rowley telling Greg, "Don't call me. Don't come by my house. It's over," ending the friendship and walking away. A short cut of the scene was uploaded to YouTube[1] on November 21st, 2011, garnering over 456,000 views in 13 years. An extended version of the scene was uploaded to YouTube[2] at a later date (shown below).

Rowley Jefferson: You only care about yourself. You hated my cartoon, you made fun of my clothes, you disrespected Joshie, you broke my hand and you didn't even seem sorry!

Greg Heffley: That broken hand was the best thing that ever happened to you!

Rowley Jefferson: [in disbelief] Don't call me. Don't come by my house. We're done.

On May 12th, TikToker[6] @wimpykidofficial, the official Diary of a Wimpy Kid page, posted a video referencing the scene, garnering over 1.2 million views in five months (shown below, right).

On July 24th, YouTuber[7] gec got posted an edit of the scene voicing over each character with dialogue filled with Gen Z slang terms, garnering over 48,000 views in three months (shown below).

On September 16th, TikToker[8] @402.chris posted a meme using the scene that gained over 2.3 million views in a month (shown below). On October 2nd, TikToker[9] @victoriasmindsett posted the scene, captioned, "this was a cultural reset," garnering over 3.2 million views in 10 days.
