About

Donald Trump's Lawn Penis refers to a large phallus-shaped design that had been mowed into the lawn below the flight path of United States President Donald Trump's airplane as he flew to the United Kingdom.

Origin

On June 2nd, 2019, Twitter user @born_eco[1] tweeted a photo of a penis mowed into a lawn next to the sentence, "Oi, Trump, Climate change is real." They captioned the tweet, "Guess who's been busy today mowing a stiff message for Trump under the Stansted flightpath… Please share and let's see how far we can spread the welcome! #climatechange #Trump #welcometrump" (shown below). The tweet gained over 7,100 likes and 4,200 retweets in two days.

Spread

Following the post, people reacted to the image with a variety of jokes about the image. Twitter[2] user @rogerromeo tweeted a version of the image that decreased the size of the phallus (shown below, left). They captioned the image, "Let's get this corrected!"

That day, the creator of the message, 18-year-old Ollie Nancarrow, said,[3] "Donald Trump and his denial of climate change are not welcome and I want him to be fully aware of that when he flies in to Stansted on Monday."

On June 5th, Nancarrow, who owns Born Eco, appeared on the late-night talkshow Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The clip received more than 182,000 views when uploaded to YouTube.

Several media outlets covered the image, including Mashable, [4] BBC,[5] HuffPost,[6] The Hill[7] and more.
