Origin

On February 28th, 2018, Getty Images photographer Mandel Ngan uploaded a photograph of President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and Vice President Mike Pence at the funeral for Reverend Billy Graham.[1] In the photograph (shown below), Trump can be seen reaching over his wife Melania and touching the thigh of Mike Pence.

That day, the website The Cut,[2] published an article about the picture.

Two days later, HuffPost reporter Ashley Feinberg tweeted[3] the picture and two zoomed-in pictures of the hand on Pence's leg and Pence's face. She captioned the picture, "when you desperately need mother." The post (shown below, left) received more than 6,700 retweets and 34,000 likes in two weeks.

On March 15th, Redditor [4] NorbertH66 posted an object labeling version of the photo, which was originally posted by Instagram [5] user @epic_meme_gang on March 14th. The image features the words "My pee getting stored" overlaid on Trump, "Some made up organ called the bladder" over Melania and "My balls" on Pence. This Pee is Stored in the Balls variation (shown below, center) received more than 18,000 points (83% upvoted) and 285 comments in 24 hours.

That day, Redditor[6] DrTroll_2000 posted a Flat Earth Theory variation. The post (shown below, right) received more than 700 points (96% upvoted) in less than 24 hours.
