About

Dollynho is the mascot of Dolly, a Brazilian beverage company. The character and the commercials he appears in are notable for being poorly rendered, unintentionally funny and somewhat creepy. The commercials plus the character's design and annoying voice helped attract an ironic following.

Origin

Dollynho's first appearance was in a 2008 Dolly commercial:

Spread

Dollynho has generated a large ironic following and appears in several videos and image macros. Meme Generator uses Dollynho in two templates.[3][4] Dollynho was also given a backstory on Desciclopedia,[5] a Portuguese version of Uncyclopedia. A fan-made 3D model is free to download[2] at Steam and use in gaming mods (shown below).

Dicas do Dollynho

Dicas do Dollynho[1] is a parody Facebook account that features Dollynho giving bizarre advice. For example, one post, shown below, has Dollynho saying "Learn English and be a broken polyglot" (typos included). In late August, the Dicas do Dollynho Facebook page was deleted by Facebook, but it quickly came back a week later.

Barriguinha Mole

On June 6th, 2013, one commercial featuring a character called "Barriguinha Mole" was posted on internet in a video called "A versão made in Acre do Dollynho," which translates to "Dollynho's version made in Acre." Since Barriguinha Mole was similiar to Dollynho, he became associated with Dollynho in images and videos. The commercial can be seen here:
