It has appeared in numerous other shows/cartoons such as one of the original shorts featured on the tracy ullman show and spongebob just to name a few. it was originally a annoyed grunt uttered an annoyed grunt (in the original shorts), D'OH is what you think would become popular with several captions, all we know is it will be around as long as the internet's around.
