Doggy Anthem is a song by Brandon Zingale that inspired the trending hashtag #DoggyAnthem on TikTok in early October of 2020. Videos under the hashtag feature clips of a user's dog set to Zingale's song, often following the actions being sung about in the song. The lyrics of the song are: "That's my little doggy dude / Getting chunky eating all the food / Snuggles and he's pretty stinking cute / That's my little dude / Way too many toys up in the room / And this is all he really ever chews."

Origin

On September 23rd, 2020, TikToker Brandon Zingale, username 1dude2doodles,^[1] uploaded a video captioned "The Doggy Anthem" to his TikTok page (shown below). The video features footage of Zingale's dog. It garnered over 841 thousand views and 40 thousand likes in 13 days.

Spread

Many TikTokers expressed their love of the song in the comments section of Zingale's post, and made their own versions of the video. On September 28th, TikToker rugerandtucker^[2] posted a version of the video using Zingale's sound, garnering over 442 thousand views in 9 days (shown below, left). On September 29th, TikToker mackeytheshepsky^[3] uploaded a video featuring their dog, gaining over 924 thousand views in 8 days (shown below, right).

On October 5th, the hashtag #DoggyAnthem hit TikTok's trending page, with videos under the tag garnering over 68.1 million views as of October 6th. Zingale's sound was used in over 23.9 thousand videos as of the same date.
