Does Anyone Know If We Have To X Tomorrow refers to a series of image macros using a photo of a kid taking a mirror selfie alongside the phrasal template, "does anyone know if we have X tomorrow." The original meme is captioned, "Does anyone know if we have to bring our backpacks to the field trip tomorrow" and was posted to Instagram in October 2020, becoming increasingly popularized over the following years.

Origin

On October 26th, 2020, Instagram[1] user iphixy posted an image macro of a kid wearing a headband taking a mirror selfie captioned, "Does anyone know if we have to bring our backpacks to the field trip tomorrow," garnering over 18,600 likes in just over two years (shown below). This is the earliest known upload of the meme.

The earliest known edit of the meme was posted by Instagram[2] user bonkers4memes on February 19th, 2021. The meme edits the text to read, "Does anyone know if we have to wake up tomorrow" and garnered over 14,000 likes in two years (shown below).

Spread

The meme gained viral spread over the following months. On May 3rd, 2021, the Instagram[3] page notforlocalss posted a version of the meme replacing "bring our backpacks" with "keep doing this," which was originally posted by a now-deleted Twitter page, garnering over 58,000 likes in two years. The meme was reposted by Tumblr[4] user huffylemon on August 10th, garnering over 30,400 notes in two years (shown below, left). On August 12th, Instagram[5] user realjoemema posted a version of the meme that gained over 31,000 likes in roughly the same span of time (shown below, right).

On January 31st, 2022, Tumblr[6] user huffylemon posted a version of the meme reading "Does anyone know if we have February tomorrow," garnering over 61,000 notes in a year. The user posted one of these memes at the end of every month from that point forward, often getting tens of thousands of notes (examples shown below).

On July 27th, Instagram[7] user sadasscats posted a version of the meme using the "keep going" caption over a new image of a cat, garnering over 80,000 likes in eight months (shown below, left). On March 14th, 2023, Tumblr[8] user fifiibibii posted an Ides of March meme using the format, garnering over 44,000 notes in two weeks (shown below, right).

On March 31st, Twitter[9] user @bartleby_era posted a version of the meme that allegedly came to the user in a dream, garnering over 6,000 likes in under a day (shown below).
