"Do You Like Waffles?" is a comedy song by American songwriter and musician Parry Gripp. Albino Blacksheep later released the flash animated music video made by Nathan Mazur for the song, which went viral.
Origin
On May 10th, 2005, Parry Gripp released the album For Those About to Shop, We Salute You in the United States. The album features the song "Do You Like Waffles?"[1]
The following year, on March 23rd, 2006, Oglio, the record company that released the album, published a flash-animated music video for the song. The post received more than 6.1 million views as of April 2020 (shown below).
Spread
Later that year, a series of video remixes featuring the scene grew in popularity on YouTube. For example, on June 26th, 2007, YouTuber ILuvKnucklesShadow shared a variation called "Sonic-Do you like Waffles?" The post received more than 15 million views in less than 13 years (shown below, left). Months later, YouTuber Justin Hale published "SPONGEBOB – DO YOU LIKE WAFFLES?" using clips from the television series SpongeBob SquarePants.
On May 1st, 2008, Albino Blacksheep published the video on YouTube and received more than 28 million views.[2]
