The segment gained popularity in late November 2025 as redraw material in memes, with creators replacing the two with other characters in pop culture.

Origin

On October 17th, 2023, Indonesian YouTuber^[1] and streamer Windah Basudara started a livestream with Malaysian streamer KingShahx playing the video game The Lost Fear. At the 4-minute timestamp, they see the text written, "Do you know the person behind you?" on the wall, with both of them then turning to look behind them during the stream (shown below).

On November 27th, 2025, Twitter / X^[2] user @nocontextwindah uploaded a screenshot of the segment in the livestream with the two streamers. The post received more than 168,000 likes and 30,000 reposts in two weeks (shown below).

Spread

In late November 2025, the post gained virality among artists on Twitter / X, who began using it as redraw material for memes.

For example, on November 29th, 2025, Twitter / X^[3] user @d224356393115 uploaded a JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fan art version, replacing the two streamers with characters from the anime in similar poses. The post received 51,000 likes and 8,000 reposts in one week (shown below).

On December 5th, 2025, Twitter / X^[4] user @spongyarts uploaded SpongeBob SquarePants fan art, showing SpongeBob with Patrick Star playing the game. The post received more than 16,000 likes and 2,100 reposts in four days (shown below).
