Do Not Worry About Biden's Tax Plan is an image macro meme and frequently used caption for images that signify a lower- or a middle-class economic standing. The meme targets supporters of United States President Donald Trump, who point to Trump's opponent Vice President Joe Biden's taxation of wealthier U.S. citizens as a reason to vote for Trump in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election. The meme went viral on Twitter in November 2020.

On November 2nd, 2020, Twitter[1] user @cocoxlong tweeted, "If your pillow looks like this DO NOT worry about Biden's tax plan." Along with the caption, @cocoxlong posted a picture of a stained and well-worn pillow. The tweet received more than 77,000 likes and 16,000 retweets in less than two days (shown below).



Spread

Over the next few hours, others on Twitter posted variations of the meme, using different, household signifiers of a lack of wealth. On November 3rd, 2020, Twitter[2] user @Yaboyleeoo tweeted, "if ur ceiling looks like this DO NOT worry about biden’s tax plan." The tweet received more than 216,000 likes and 52,000 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below, left).

Throughout the day, many continued to meme the format. Twitter[3] user @blondiewasabi tweeted, "if ur microwave looks like this DO NOT worry about biden’s tax plan."
