About

DJ Funk Flex "Put Your Hand In The Cash Register" is a memorable catchphrase, copypasta and phrasal template meme from New York-based WQHT Hot 97 radio DJ Funkmaster Flex. The radio host premiered the Jay-Z and Kanye West song "Otis" live on air in July 2011, taking nearly 22 minutes to finish airing the roughly 3-minute-long track. At the 6-minute mark, DJ Funk Flex encourages his listeners to go to "any type of 24-hour store" and "put your hand in the cash register for no reason," adding, "Their money is your money as of right now." The statement became a notable copypasta and meme after 2020.
