DJ At Home refers to a series of TikTok videos in which TikTokers pretend to be DJs at home using The Wanted's 2011 song "Glad You Came." The videos, which became popular during the April 2020 coronavirus outbreak, typically involve the one TikToker approaching a table full of makeshift equipment and then the camera pans to one person dancing in the distance.
Origin
On April 8th, 2020, TikToker @colecallie uploaded the first DJ at Home video using the sound clip "Glad You Came – The Wanted" (shown below). The video garnered over 991,700 likes in nine days.
Spread
On April 10th, 2020, TikToker @t_bent12 uploaded another iteration of the DJ at Home meme oh their roof and received over 174,800 likes in a week (shown below, left). The next day, TikToker @joana.zanin10 uploaded another iteration which gained over 164,200 likes in six days (shown below, center). On April 16th, TikToker @tiktokthot696969 uploaded a DJ At Home video in which the TikToker DJs for a wine opener (shown below, right). The video garnered over 184,000 likes in a day. Stay Hipp[1] published an article on the trend.
