Origin

The author of the original image is currently unknown. On November 19th, 2021, Facebook[1] page Good morning I love you reposted a humorous image highlighting the difference between being shy and introverted which featured Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei characters Kiri Komori and Chiri Kitsu. The post (shown below) received over 1,300 reactions and 860 shares in three weeks.

On November 22nd, 2021, Twitter[2] user @hiuthis posted a Genshin Impact redraw of the image that gained over 25,100 retweets and 129,100 likes in three weeks (shown below).



Starting on that day, more redraws of the original image were posted on social media, primarily on Twitter. For example, on November 22nd, Twitter[3] user @noritar0 posted a Naruto version of the meme that gained over 1,000 retweets and 3,900 likes in three weeks (shown below, left). On November 28th, Twitter[4] user @astrei_cat posted an OMORI redraw that received over 280 retweets and 1,500 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).



In late November and early December 2021, several viral versions of the format were posted on social media.
