Destroying My Girlfriend's Makeup refers to a series of YouTube videos in which a man ruins his girlfriend's cosmetics collection via some means of destruction as a prank. Several of the videos in the trend have gained hundreds of thousands of views.

Origin

On December 28th, 2016, YouTube account Kaelin and Kyrah uploaded the first video to feature the prank, gaining over 985,000 views (shown below).

Spread

On January 1st, 2017, YouTube account Hey D&D published their version of the prank, gaining over 3.1 million views (shown below, left). Account Chris and Queen did their version of the prank the same day, gaining over 1 million views (shown below, right).

The trend continued into 2017 with the added twist of tying the girlfriend in question up. The most popular videos showing the prank include a video by De'arra & Ken 4 Life that gained over 4.7 million views (shown below, left) and a video by Karlee and Connor that gained over 3.8 million views (shown below, right).
