About
Designed With Gamers In Mind vs. Designed With Activists In Mind is an exploitable ironic meme format based on a viral tweet by @mrphillipchan showing Atsu, the protagonist of the video game Ghost of Yōtei, if she was designed with gamers in mind, depicted with heavy makeup and cleavage, vs. designed with activists in mind, using her real in-game model. The post inspired a series of memes parodying the original post by drastically editing other video game characters to appear more stereotypically attractive to men.
Origin
On October 8th, 2025, X[1] user @mrphillipchan posted a meme showing an edit of Ghost of Yotei's main character Atsu with large breasts, visible cleavage and makeup on her face on the left under the caption, "Designed with gamers in mind," next to the actual in-game render of Atsu on the right under the caption, "Designed with activists in mind." The post text reads, "If Ghost of Yotei made Atsu look like this, the game woulda sold a million copies by now." The post gained over 20,000 likes and 2,500 reposts in five days.
The post is inspired by discourse surrounding the game being too "woke" for starring a woman protagonist.
