Delete, A Lot Of People Are Asking You To Delete, also known as the Delete Copypasta, is a copypasta depicting a user begging for a poster to delete their content because it is triggering to them or others. The copypasta was popularized on Twitter throughout 2020, becoming increasingly prevalent online over the following years.

Origin

The earliest known use of a version of the copypasta was posted to Twitter[1] by @netflixado on February 18th, 2020. It is unclear if this is the earliest iteration of the copypasta. The exact text of the copypasta sometimes differs between posts (two common versions shown below).

On Reddit, the copypasta was posted to the /r/copypasta[2] subreddit on August 24th, 2021. It continued to spread throughout the 2020s on Twitter as a comedic way of asking a poster to delete their post. On September 29th, 2021, Twitter[3] user @letterboxdauras posted a screenshot of a Letterboxd review for He's All That consisting of the copypasta, garnering over 2,100 likes in two years (shown below).

On May 29th, 2023, YouTuber h3h3productions posted a viral Photoshop edit of himself with a thinning hairline to Twitter[4] along with the copypasta, garnering over 19,000 likes in four days (shown below).
