Deep Fried Conversations are a series of TikTok videos in which users act out cliché situational conversations with intermittent stills of themself deep fried to a remixed version of Stereo Love by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina.[1]
Origin
In 2009, electronic musicians Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina released their song "Stereo Love."[1] On April 18th, 2019, TikTok user @beanslee uploaded a remixed version of the song and acted out a deep fried conversation about trying out a friend's glasses (shown below). The video garnered over 932,800 likes and 79,500 shares in two months.
Spread
On April 20th, TikTok user began uploading their own versions. TikTok user @swifyo's video about being a twin gained over 157,400 likes and 4,800 shares in two months. That same day, @stoproby and @kaytlynstewart uploaded their own renditions which accumulated over 33,900 likes and 24,000 likes respectively in two months (shown below, right).
