On January 27th, 2026, the Roblox devs announced that, in February 2026, all "classic head and face combos" would be replaced with dynamic heads. Dynamic heads feature facial animations, while classic heads do not.

That day, X[1] / Twitter user @LukasThePickle shared a screenshot of a page announcing the update, garnering over 11,000 likes in a week.



The announcement spread over the following days and was highly criticized by many Roblox players.[2][3][4] As early as January 28th, some Roblox players began making posts blaming Roblox Corporation's CEO and co-founder David Baszucki.

For example, that morning, X[5] user @TheAxolotlSun made a post sharing three edits of Baszucki's face, writing, "got so mad I started to disfigure davids face," garnering over 40,000 likes in six days.



Also on January 28th, Roblox players started posting creepypasta-style edits of Baszucki that are meant to place a curse on him. Many of the posts reference classic heads.

For example, that day, X[6][7][8] users @SkippyxlxlxlYT, @Milk4EverToast and @sanfordgaming41 posted curses that gained over 150 likes each in six days.

One early example was posted by X[9] user @SammyDrawss on January 28th, garnering over 19,000 likes in six days.

On January 29th, 2026, in response to the backlash, Roblox devs announced that they would allow players to turn off facial animations on their dynamic heads, but that the classic heads would still technically be removed.[10]

Despite the Roblox Corporation's attempt to make things right by allowing players to turn off facial animations, the curses and memes continued. On January 30th, X[12] user @FrizzlePizzaz posted a curse meme that gained over 1,600 likes in four days.



On January 31st, 2026, TikToker[13] @yaboiijordaan posted a meme putting a curse on Baszucki, garnering over 1.4 million views in three days.
