Damn They Got The Hennessy is a viral video and catchphrase originating from a Facebook Live that was subsequently popularized on Twitter and TikTok as a soundbite. The video features a Black woman with her phone held up to her ear and then saying, "Damn they got the Hennessy! Fuck! They got the Hennessy" in a sing-song voice. The audio is used by internet users to signify finding something they like or being offered something good by someone else.
Origin
On February 2nd, 2020, Facebook[1] user Tamira Crane posted a Live captioned "What's up." The video features her and her friends, including Denise Locc, the person that coined the iconic phrase, chatting with people commenting on the livestream and drinking Modelos. At the 31:50 timestamp, Locc sees more party guests arriving and delivers the line, "Damn they got the Hennessy! Fuck! They got the Hennessy!" The video gathered over 4,000 reactions, 15,000 comments and 12,000 shares in over two years. A reupload of the section with the dialogue was posted to YouTube on March 8th, 2021, by YouTuber[2] TF memes (seen below), garnering over 9,000 views and 100 likes in roughly one year.

On February 5th, 2021, TikToker[3] @yooleekoo posted a screen-recording of Tamira Crane's Facebook Live with the caption “they got the Hennessyyy 💀💀." The video gathered over 2.5 million views and 400,000 likes in over a year (seen below).
On March 4th, 2021, YouTuber[4] yves thee stallion posted a different screen-recording, this time without the visible video control toggles. The upload gathered over 21,000 views in just over one year (seen below).
The catchphrase began to take off on TikTok and Twitter soon after these uploads. On February 10th, 2021, TikToker[5] @nizzynoo posted a video using the sound with a text overlay that read, "6 year old at church when they brought out the crackers and grape juice." The video gathered over a million views and 300,000 likes in a year and a half (shown below).
On March 11th, 2021, Twitter[6] user @nastyfelon posted a photo grid of V from the K-Pop band BTS with a caption that read, "THEY GOT THE HENNESSY THEY GOT THE HENNESSY." The tweet gathered over 400 likes in roughly one year (shown below).
