Cursed Cat Alastor is a Hazbin Hotel fan character depicting Alastor as a cat with red fur, sharp teeth and black tufts on his ears and tail. The character was designed by Korean artist @coma_0423 in February 2024 and gained viral spread on X (Twitter) that month leading into March, inspiring others to draw fan art.

Origin

On February 25th, 2024, Korean X^[1] artist @coma_0423 posted a Hazbin Hotel fan comic in which Charlie tells her dad Lucifer that they're going to raise a cat resembling Alastor. The comic shows the cat Alastor in various situations. The post gained over 3,900 likes in a week. Later that day, the artist posted a translated version of the same comic to X^[2] (shown below).

Spread

The artist continued to post artwork of Cursed Cat Alastor to X^[3]^[4]^[5] over the following days, with numerous posts gaining over 1,000 likes (examples shown below). The character also became the subject of fan art.

On March 4th, 2024, X^[6] user @montysdrawz posted a piece of fan art depicting Alastor cat in various poses, garnering over 6,200 likes in a day (shown below, left). On March 5th, X^[7] user @NanaNaexii posted a piece of Alastor cat fan art that gained over 8,300 likes in under a day (shown below, right). Fan videos also started to appear on TikTok.^[8]

That day, Tumblr^[9] user lucdoodle posted a series of pieces of fan art of Cursed Cat Alastor, garnering over 1,200 notes in under a day (shown below).
