About
Crying Buffalo Bills Fan refers to a viral video of a Bills fan attending the Buffalo Bills' NFL playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs who is sobbing after Bills kicker Tyler Bass missed a game-tying field goal in the fourth quarter, effectively ending the game. The clip was used as a reaction video and GIF on social media in memes over the following days, with humorous captions both related and unrelated to the Bills' defeat.
Origin
On January 21st, 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs faced the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo in an AFC Divisional Playoff game. After a back-and-forth contest, the Buffalo Bills had a chance to tie the game in the fourth quarter with a 44-yard field goal. However, their kicker, Tyler Bass, badly missed it wide right, effectively ending the game and guaranteeing victory for the Chiefs (shown below).
As The Chiefs ran out the clock, the camera panned to disappointed Bills fans, including a man who was sobbing into his hat (shown below at the 12:30 mark).
