CraigslistLove is a .txt Twitter account featuring various excerpts from classified personal ads on Craigslist that are taken out of their original context and seem humorous or inappropriate. On Tumblr, many of these tweets are paired with images of fictional characters whose personalities or backstories match the content of the tweet.
Origin
In November 2012, the @craigslistlove[1] Twitter feed was launched, which included the description "Wisdom from posts found mostly in the personals section of craigslist.org." Over the next several years, the account gained over 52,400 followers and posted over 6,700 tweets.
Spread
On January 9th, 2015, the WesterosPersonals[3] Tumblr blog was created, which features still images from the television show Game of Thrones paired with screenshots of @craigslistlove tweets (shown below).
On March 15th, the Attack on Craigslist Personals Tumblr[4] was launched, featuring Attack on Titan characters captioned with @craigslistlove tweets (shown below, left). On June 19th, the Assclass Craigslist Personals Tumblr[2] blog was created, which highlights screenshots from the anime Ansatsu Kyoushitsu juxtaposed with notable @craigslistlove tweets (shown below, right).
