About

Connecticut Clark is a character within the Flork of Cows comic universe. In the first webcomic, Clark is created by some guy within the comic and is described as an average man from Connecticut with no OP. The comics later included the character Malfina the Demon Witch who falls in love with Clark. The "Clark Saga" was first uploaded by Flork to Reddit and Twitter starting in March 2019. The character is also used as an exploitable in memes.

Origin

On March 18th, 2019, Flork uploaded the first Connecticut Clark comic to both the /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial[1] subreddit and his Twitter[2] account. On Reddit, the comic (shown below) received roughly 1,000 upvotes over the course of three years, and on Twitter, the tweet received roughly 3,100 likes over three years.

On the same day, March 18th, 2019, Flork uploaded the second part of the "Clark Saga" to /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial,[3] introducing a new character named Malfina the Demon Witch. Malfina enters the comic saying, "MORTALS BOW DOWN, I AM MALFINA THE DEMON WITCH AN- woah dude you are a solid 4/10." Clark then asks Malfina to come over to his parent's house for a "connecticut dinner." The comic (shown below) received roughly 1,000 upvotes over the course of three years.

On March 19th, 2019, Flork uploaded the third comic of the saga to /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial[4] that showed the "connecticut dinner" taking place. Within the comic, Malfina is offered "connecticut water," which is green, and she says she doesn't want it. The comic (shown below, left) received roughly 894 upvotes over three years. By April 3rd, 2019, Flork posted the remaining three comics of the original six Connecticut Clark comics to the /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial[5][6][7] subreddit. In the last comic of the saga (shown below, right) Clark and Malfina get married. When posted to Reddit,[7] it received roughly 1,500 upvotes over the course of three years.

Flork posted a link on /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial[8] on April 29th, 2019, of the entire "Clark Saga." The post received 725 likes over the course of three years.

Interest in Connecticut Clark spread to sites like iFunny in May 2019. For example, on May 8th, 2019, iFunnier[9] @Camelot posted a meme with captions reading, "Repub If Youd Go To Clarks Wedding." The meme (shown below) received roughly 22,500 smiles over the course of three years.

Connecticut Clark and Malfina fan art started to appear on iFunny and Twitter by the end of 2019. On October 3rd, 2019, iFunnier[10] @CrazyAnnoying45 posted fan art (shown below, left) that received roughly 3,700 smiles over the course of three years. Twitter[11] user @krnart tweeted fan art (shown below, right) on November 6th, 2019, and received roughly 1,000 likes over three years.

On May 4th, 2020, Flork uploaded a seventh Connecticut Clark comic to /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial[12] that showed Clark bringing home a dog he'd found. The comic (shown below) received roughly 800 upvotes over the course of a year and a half.

Because of the above comic, Connecticut Clark received more attention online, most notably on Tumblr. For instance, on April 10th, 2020, Tumblr[13] user quackspot posted a meme that made a joke about "Connecticut water." The meme (shown below) received 114 notes over the course of a year and a half.

On April 16th, 2021, Flork added the eighth comic to the "Clark Saga," posting it to /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial.[14] The comic (shown below) received roughly 2,300 upvotes over the course of eight months. Flork posted more Connecticut Clark and Malfina comics to /r/FlorkofCowsOfficial[15][16][17][18] going into the rest of 2021 (there are 12 as of November 2021).

Connecticut Clark and Malfina content appeared in more abundance on Tumblr in 2021. Users started to exploit Connecticut Clark and Malfina's wedding comic, adding in different words and different characters or even reusing the original text but layering it over other four-panel comics. iFunnier[19] @YulkyTulky posted the first known variation (shown below, left) on September 16th, 2020, and received roughly 82,900 smiles over the course of one year. Tumblr[19] user chierry posted the first known exploited comic on Tumblr on June 14th, 2021, (shown below, right) and received 75 notes over five months.
