Come On Superman, Say Your Stupid Line is a line from the Tame Impala song "The Less I Know the Better," released in 2015. In November 2025, the section of the song containing the lyrics became a catchphrase and inspired a lip dub trend on TikTok and Instagram Reels in which participants lip sync to the lyrics and then share a quote, sometimes a hollow statement or promise they don't live up to, that they regularly use or, in the case of celebrities, are known to use. The meme carried into December 2025, with numerous celebrities taking part in it that month, such as Sabrina Carpenter.

Origin

In 2015, Tame Impala released the song "The Less I Know the Better" as a single for their album Currents. The song includes the lyrics, "So come on Superman, say your stupid line," which has been discussed online since the song's release and initial popularity.^[1][2]

It is unclear who started the "Come On Superman" trend. On July 16th, 2025, TikToker^[3] @dqrksiren posted an edit of the 2025 Superman movie set to the song, which inspired the most popular original sound for the trend.

The earliest known example of the trend was uploaded on November 16th, 2025, by TikToker^[4] @nskzidqtb00, who lip dubbed to the song under the caption, "So come on Superman, say your stupid line… 'I'm never drinking again,'" joking that she always says, "I'm never drinking again," after getting too drunk. The video gained over 2.7 million views in a month.

The trend went viral over the course of November 2025 under both the original sound for @dqrksiren's video, inspiring over a million uses in a month, and a second original sound by TikToker^[5] @yumeuria_, which was used over 400,000 times in a similar span of time.

For example, on November 21st, TikToker^[6] @emmachickenfry posted a version of the meme where she shares the quote, "I have to shit," garnering over 16.3 million views in about three weeks.

In early December 2025, numerous celebrities started participating in the trend. On December 3rd, Hailey Bieber, wife of Justin Bieber, posted a video on TikTok^[7] participating in the trend, garnering over 27 million views in six days.

On December 4th, actor Kevin Chamberlin posted a video on TikTok^[8] following the trend, in which he shares a quote from his character Bertram in the show Jessie, garnering over 42 million views in five days.

On December 6th, influencer Jake Paul posted a video on TikTok^[9] participating in the trend, in which he references his Team 10 catchphrase, "It's everyday, bro," garnering over 7 million views in three days.

On December 8th, 2025, the Late Night With Seth Meyers TikTok^[10] account (@latenightseth) posted a clip of pop star Sabrina Carpenter doing the trend, receiving over 2 million views, 428,000 likes and 520 comments in 18 hours.
