Chuzz is a brainrot slang term that emerged on TikTok as a derogatory manner to refer to an unattractive girl, part of the larger -uzz slang words. The term is derived from a combination of the slang "huzz" (an alternate spelling and pronunciation of "hoes") and "chopped" (meaning ugly) as in "chopped huzz" or "chuzz" for short. The slang has been used on TikTok since November 2024 but gained viral traction in late January 2025 as other -uzz slang terms from AAVE trended online. Alternatively, chuzz is also used less so to mean "Chinese hoes" in some circles online.

Origin

On November 14th, 2024, TikTok^[1] user @midwestmiah posted one of the earliest mentions of the slang term, adding it alongside other brainrot terms like "bruzz, huzz, gruzz, fuzz and chuzz." The video (seen below) amassed more than 20,000 plays and 4,000 likes in three months.

On November 26th, 2024, TikTok^[2] user @245462685bigolepimphoe posted the earliest viral usage of the term in a video in which she expressed confusion over being called "chuzz (chopped huzz)," which her followers explained is a term used to call someone an "ugly hoe." The video amassed over 234,000 likes in three months (seen below).

Numerous definitions for "chuzz" were added to Urban Dictionary^[5] in late 2024 and early 2025, with some defining it as the more common meaning of "chopped hoes" and others defining it "Chinese hoes."

Spread

The term gained viral usage on TikTok in late January and early February 2025 as users started to create ironic videos related to the "chuzz" slang.

For instance, on February 1st, 2025, TikTok^[3] user @ posted a video alongside a Chinese woman, writing "When you help the chuzz (Chinese huzz) carry her stuff at the warehouse so she gives you a nickname." The post (seen below) received roughly 2.3 million plays and 393,000 likes in three days.

On the same day, TikTok^[4] user @chitteddonu posted a video about the slang term (seen below), amassing over 55,000 plays and 1,100 likes in three days.

Many threads and posts on Reddit began using the slang terminology around late 2024 and early 2025 as chuzz continued gaining traction online, including subreddits like /r/teenagers^[6] and /r/playboicarti,^[7] though most received minimal engagement.
