About

Chris Crying refers to an image macro from the 2017 film Get Out when the character Chris Washington (played by Daniel Kaluuya) is crying as the camera zooms into him. It was first used as a reaction image on Instagram in 2017. In 2022, it was used en masse as the bottom panel in two-panel memes as a reaction to another movie or TV show character saying a line with similarity to the film's title.

On February 24th, 2017, The film Get Out was released in the U.S. [1] In the film, Chris Washington is hypnotized by his girlfriend's mother (played by Catherine Keener). Before the movie was released in February 2017, the movie's trailer included the scene of Chris Crying out-of-context.
