"Chocolate!", also known as "Chocolate Guy", is a memorable character from the Spongebob Squarepants episode "Chocolate With Nuts", although the character's real name is Tom Smith.^[1] The character is notable for angrily screaming "Chocolate!", and is often used in YouTube Poops, photoshops, and YTMNDs.

Origin

The character originates from the episode "Chocolate With Nuts", first aired on June 1st, 2002. In the episode Spongebob and Patrick attempt to sell chocolate to him, which he replies with "Did you say chocolate?". He then then begins screaming "CHOCOLATE" repeatedly. He reappears later in the episode, where he buys all of Spongebob and Patrick's chocolate.

Later, on June 22, 2005, YTMND user "hehelololol" created a page^[3] featuring the Tom Smith combined with the Metal Gear Codec, titled "Metal Gear Chocolate."

A YTMND was made on December 31st, 2006 of a GIF from the 2002 movie "Windtalkers" of am attack on a camp after a man hands chocolate to a little girl edited to contain Tom Smith.^[6] The YTMND has since gained over 700 thousand views in 10 years. The YTMND has a rating of 4.76, making it the 17th highest rated YTMND as of 2016.

Later, YouTube user Awful Fawful created a parody of Chocolate With Nuts featuring a scene with the screams made into a YTPMV of Night Of Nights. The scene was later made into an extended version, and has since gained over 100 thousand views.
