Chika Dance

Chika Dance refers to a dance performed by Chika Fujiwara of the anime series Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. After airing, footage of the dance was remixed with other music while some users copied the dance in popular YouTube videos.

Origin

The scene comes from the third episode of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, which aired January 26th, 2019.^[1] Chika Fujiwara danced during the episode's credits (shown below).

Spread

After the episode aired, it was quickly parodied in numerous ways. YouTube channel Megumi Studio JP posted several videos in which a person performs the dance, one on January 31st, 2019 that gained over 100,000 views (shown below, left) and another the following day that gained over 116,000 views (shown below, right).

Other social media users took footage of the dance and paired it with other music. For example, YouTube user luke posted footage of the dance paired with 6ix9ine music on February 3rd, 2019, gaining over 60,000 views (shown below, left). User At the Time posted a compilation of remixed dances, gaining over 4,500 views (shown below, right).

Dance remixes were particularly popular on /r/animemes. For example, a post by Bullyzard gained over 14,000 points on the subreddit.^[2] User Stuinko456 posted another remix that gained over 9,200 points.^[3]
