The Cher and Future Song, known for the lyric "Different Strokes for Different Folks," refers to a duet called "Everyday People," performed by singer-songwriter Cher and rapper Future for a 2017 GAP commercial. The song went viral on TikTok years later in 2025 as it sparked several memes in which people reenacted the clip, lip dubbed it and posted reactions expressing shock because the collaboration of the two artists seemed out of place.

On September 14th, 2017, hip-hop producer Zaytoven shared a YouTube[1] video, which was a new GAP commercial with a duet by Cher and Future. The beat was produced by Zaytoven. The song was called "Everyday People," leading with a verse by Cher, reading, "Sometimes I'm right, but I can be wrong. My own beliefs are in my song. Different strokes for different folks." The video received over 274,800 views in eight years (shown below).

In 2025, the song went viral when it was reposted on TikTok, most notably when TikToker[3] @futuretoxicmonster posted a clip on May 16th, 2025, saying, "Future got a major bag for this," receiving over 723,900 likes in 12 days (shown below).

On May 18th, TikToker[4] @s3retonin123 posted a Why You So Quiet? What's On Your Mind? meme, showing Cher and Future in the man's head in reference to their song, receiving over 283,600 likes in 10 days (shown below).

On May 23rd, 2025, TikToker[2] @minimumwagegladiator posted a screen-recording of the commercial, writing, "This was made 7 YEARS AGO?! HOW'D we miss this…" Over five days, it gained over 330,600 likes (shown below).

Also on May 23rd, TikToker[5] @_babytoad_ posted a reenactment of the commercial, with two people dressed up as Cher and Future, seen lip dubbing the track. Over five days, the video received roughly 799,200 likes (shown below).

By May 28th, 2025, the trend's primary TikTok sound[6] had amassed over 2,500 posts.
