Celebrities Without Eyebrows is a photoshop meme featuring images of famous people that have been altered to appear as if they do not have eyebrows. The images are often edited using the clone stamp and content aware fill tools in Photoshop. The fad has spawned several single topic blogs with collections of the edited photos.

Origin

The "Celebrities Without Eyebrows"[1] Tumblr blog was created on December 10th, 2009. For unknown reasons, the Tumblr blog migrated to the Blogspot[2] platform on March 22nd, 2010, where it updated regularly until September 9th, 2013. The creator revealed the inspiration behind the page in a post on May 21st, 2011.

"I saw a photoshopped pic of Rob Pattinson without eyebrows (the first pic I ever posted to this blog!) and started wondering what other celebs would look like without eyebrows. And here we are! Although I need new celebs to de-eyebrow. Anyone got any suggestions?"

The "Fuck Yeah No Eyebrows"[6] Tumblr was created on October 13th, 2010. BuzzFeed[3] posted a round-up of images on March 4th, 2011. A Tumblr titled "Celebs With No Eyebrows"[4] was created on September 2nd, 2011. Uproxx[5] published a slideshow of photos on September 6th, 2011. That week, images from the blog also appeared on Pop Hangover[7] and Funny or Die.[8] In 2012, more images were posted on College Candy[9] and BitRebels.[10] In 2013, pages were created for the fad on Facebook[11] and Twitter[12], gaining nearly 950 fans and more than and 3,600 followers respectively as of September 2013. Additional instances can also be found on Tumblr.[13]

Search queries saw their first spike in March of 2011, the same month a round-up of related images were posted to BuzzFeed. The largest spike occurred in September of 2011 after the creation of the "Celebs With No Eyebrows"[4] Tumblr.
