Celebrities Dancing to Said Sum refers to a trend on TikTok where videos of celebrities dancing are set to the song "Said Sum (Remix)" by Moneybagg Yo.[1] The trend started with videos of Sarah Paulson dancing, before branching out to other celebrities, and viral videos of non-celebrities dancing, often in an awkward manner.

On October 6th, 2020, TikToker stansarahpaulson[2] uploaded a compilation of actress Sarah Paulson dancing set to the song "Said Sum" (shown below). The video garnered over 3.4 million views and 687 thousand likes in 9 days, and marks the start of the trend.

Spread

After stansarahpaulson's video, TikTok users started using various clips of the actress dancing in their own videos, either reacting to the dance or incorporating it otherwise. On October 6th, 2020, TikToker serenajohnson[3] uploaded a video of herself reacting to Paulson dancing on Ellen, receiving over 6.4 million views and 1.3 million likes in 9 days (shown below, left). On the same day, TikToker jasmeeniebobeenie[4] uploaded a video dancing along to Paulson, garnering over 5.1 million views and 1.1 million likes (shown below, right).

Soon, TikTokers started applying the sound to other celebrities and people dancing. On October 10th, TikToker sheloveszach[5] uploaded a video featuring Shaq dancing on the basketball court, garnering over 2.6 million views in 5 days (shown below, left). On October 12th, actress Skai Jackson [6] uploaded a video captioned "Y'all seen Sara but now it's Cameron," featuring a video of Cameron Boyce dancing to the song (shown below, right). The video garnered over 33 million views and 9 million likes in 3 days.

On October 14th, StayHipp published a piece on the trend.[7] As of October 15th, "Said Sum" has been used in over 183 thousand videos across TikTok.
