Cassie Hiding In Bathtub, also known as Me When The Doordash Person Knocks, refers to an exploitable image macro of the character Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney) from Euphoria hiding in a tub, curtain drawn, with her hand over her mouth to keep herself quiet as if scared of someone approaching. The image was posted to Twitter in January 2022 along with a caption about hiding from a Doordash delivery driver, becoming the subject of similar, ironically captioned memes over the following days.

Origin

On January 9th, 2022, the season two premiere of Euphoria aired on television. In the episode, Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney) has sex with Nate (played by Jacob Elordi), who is romantically involved with her friend Maddy, at a party. After they have sex, Nate leaves the room and tells her to get in the bathtub as Maddy enters shortly after. Cassie then proceeds to hide in the bathtub, hand over her mouth, to avoid Maddy. The image was posted to a review from The Cut^[1] on January 10th (shown below).

On January 12th, Twitter^[2] user @mikes_hardest_ posted, "me when the doordash person knocks instead of just leaving the food there," along with the image, implying the user hides in terror when the Doordash driver wants to make human interaction, gaining over 518,000 likes and 52,800 retweets in two days (shown below). The meme was notably reposted to Instagram^[3] page moistbuddha the next day, gaining over 96,900 likes in a day.

The original meme by @mikes_hardest_ inspired other Twitter users to use the same image for ironically captioned memes over the following days, often variations of the phrase "me when the …" For example, on January 13th, 2022, Twitter^[4] user @violentlyepic posted the image with a nonsense caption, "me when the and is the and me when for is," gaining over 18,700 likes and 1,200 retweets in a day (shown below). The caption is possibly inspired by the Why Do They Call It Oven meme.

On the same day, Twitter^[5][6] users @jaipaulfan and @pineportz posted meme using the image, the former in a joke about hitting the Doordash driver with a crowbar and the latter a reference to Animal Crossing gaining over 187 likes and 360 likes and 50 retweets, respectively, in a day (shown below, left and right).

On January 14th, Twitter^[7] user @keyon posted a recreation of the photo with a Barbie doll writing, "Tryna decide if I wanna go see scream," gaining over 80,000 likes and 3,900 retweets in five days (shown below, left). On the same day, Instagram^[8] user trashcanpaul posted a Trojan Horse meme implying Cassie is hiding in the horse, gaining over 40,400 likes in the same span of time (shown below, right).

On the same day, Twitter^[9] user @hannahlchinn posted the meme, writing, "me when i open the google doc and my editor is in there making changes," gaining over 424,000 likes and 36,000 retweets in five days (shown below).

On January 16th, Twitter^[10] user @vvhiteferrari posted a meme implying Cassie is hiding in the egg-like structure that Lady Gaga attended the 2011 Grammy Awards in,^[11] gaining over 250,000 likes and 19,000 retweets in three days (shown below).
