"Bye-Bye Boomer", also known as "KO Boomer", is a satirical retort mocking the death of Baby Boomers to Coronavirus, after the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan, China in December, 2019. It is a parody of the phase "OK Boomer".
The COVID-19 outbreak began in Wuhan, China in late 2019 and quickly spread across the globe. The virus proved to be extremely contagious and had a fatality rate of around 3.5%. The majority of these deaths came from older people above the age of 50, who already had weakened immune systems.
The meme first appeared on 4Chan, when an anonymous poster uploaded this image with the phrase on the /pol/ board[1], on March 11th, 2020.

OK Boomer is a dismissive retort often used to disregard or mock Baby Boomers and those who are perceived as old-fashioned and being out-of-touch.
