Bugha's Fortnite World Cup Win Reaction or Esports Player Celebrating Win refers to a clip of professional Fortnite player Bugha reacting to his 2019 Fortnite World Cup win, raising his arms in victory as confetti rains down on him. The clip was taken on July 28th of that year and started to become the subject of memes in May 2022, used in image macros about celebrating a win.

Origin

On July 28th, 2019, pro Fortnite player Bugha won the 2019 Fortnite World Cup, taking home a total prize of $3 million.[1] On July 31st, Bugha uploaded the clip to YouTube,[2] his reaction and celebration to the win shown at the 10:15 mark, gaining over 26 million views in three years (shown below).

On December 2nd, 2021, the celebration was posted as a GIF to Giphy.[3] On May 20th, 2022, Redditor PitiedAbyss posted an image macro using the clip to /r/dankmemes,[4] using the celebration to portray American soldiers after a drone strike, gaining over 8,500 upvotes in just over two weeks (shown below).

On May 26th, Redditor Barry_Mckockiner12 posted a meme to /r/memes[5] using the format, referencing Minecraft, gaining over 27,700 upvotes in six days (shown below, left). On June 2nd, Redditor Mark_luckerberg posted another meme to /r/dankmemes[6] using the format, gaining over 12,300 upvotes in four days (shown below, right).
