The trend began in April 2022 and went viral over the following months and is similar to the I Know A Spot meme.

On April 7th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @st00b_ posted a video ironically captioned, "Homie said he knew a spot🤦" showing a cliff edge overlooking the ocean, gaining over 3 million views in two months (shown below).

Spread

On May 15th, TikToker^[2] @eimundt posted a video following the trend, gaining over 4.1 million views in two weeks (shown below, left). On May 26th, TikToker^[3] @jokersiwa posted a similar video, gaining over 1.8 million views in six days (shown below, right).

On May 28th, TikToker^[4] @marissaw143 posted a video following the trend showing a spot inside an abandoned building, gaining over 12 million views in four days (shown below).
